Tyneside No.1. Celtic Supporters Club Info
The Tyneside No.1. Celtic Supporters Club was founded in 1989 by a group of bhoys who travelled to Glasgow Celtic home and away matches independently either by car or train.
The first official Tyneside No.1. CSC bus was run on 27th September 1989 to the Celtic V Partizan Belgrade match. This was the match Jacki Dziekanowski famously scored four goals in a thrilling 5-4 match. I think we can all agree that this is a major milestone in the clubs history.
Since then the club has went from strength to strength – We base ourselves within the Tyneside Irish Centre in The Gallowgate, Newcastle where we watch all away games if we are not attending and provide regular travel and tickets to home matches for Celtic fans based in the North East of England. We also play an active role in doing charity work with close links to the Celtic FC Foundation.
We have a good number of active members from all over the North East attending matches. We run a mini bus from the Tyneside Irish Centre in Newcastle to the smaller home games and bigger buses to the more important matches (European matches, Deadco 5088, Aberdeen etc.). We have a select few members who travel to away games by car or with the Hoops Bar C.S.C. based in the Gallowgate, Glasgow.
If you are interested in getting involved with the club contact us either on Twitter or Facebook and we can take it from there.
